Variations of this request crop up regularly, the most recent incarnation being a need to identify both the obvious and the subtle indicators of Britishness.

Mainstream sources (press, books, tourism organisations) have some value: the best resource is my own trends database on the Evernote platform, which I have maintained for several years. All observations that may eventually be of use are tagged and stored there.

“Britishness” is a tag that is now attached to hundreds of articles, experiences, ideas, reports, etc., ready for easy retrieval.
